I've got a few of these cameras running 24/7 hooked to a cheap computer for monitoring/recording motion for home security. I can't say enough good things about these cameras!
The built-in IR lighting and night mode are wonderful. For the price, I can't believe they come standard.
I've used Linksys and Panasonic cameras in the past, and this one blows them away. The Linksys cameras always had issues reliably staying connected with the router. The Panasonic cameras, while reliable in my experience, are at least twice the price, and don't have built-in IR illuminators and some of the other features the Voyager-1 has.
Asante's free VMS software can handle up to 16 cameras in several "grid" layouts. Single screen, 2x2, 4x4, and some hybrid modes of each where one feed is larger than the rest. It does motion sensor recording (video and audio), full time recording via scheduling, and then the usual sending of alerts.
The Voyager-1 also has output relays for turning on an external alarm (for instance), as well as a jack for an external speaker (so you can send audio to the camera as well as receive audio).
As far as the ActiveX issue or "Windows" only thing, that's soon to be a thing of the past. I've actually seen the Safari support firsthand in the upcoming soon-to-be-released firmware. Now an iPhone can point directly to the camera's main page and (after logging in), see the video stream in real-time. It's sharp, and the framerate is quite good! You can actually see the entire 1280x1024 image area over the phone. You can also access the settings page from the iPhone and/or Safari, which means no more requirement of ActiveX or Windows.
About the only bad thing I can really say about the cameras is the motion sensing seems to be a bit on the over-zealous side, so even on low settings I get some false recordings. Hopefully that's something they'll get worked out in a future firmware update. Since Asante has an office in Fremont, California (where their Tech Support is located), they seem pretty open to bug reports, new ideas and suggestions about their cameras.
I've been using my setup for a few months now and would definately recommend them.
