Olympus 40-150mm f/4.0-5.6 ED Zuiko Digital Lens for Olympus Digital SLR Cameras CustomerReview
Of course most people know Olympus as a high quality brand. And, I was looking for a suitable yet affordable lens that could be adaptable to my Panasonic Lumix G1. In this 40-150 lens, I surely found just that.
In daylight and other well lit situations, the results from the ED Zuiko seems hard to beat. While it does struggle somewhat in low light situation, many lenses do the same. Overall, I've been pretty satisfied with the results from my preliminary test shots.
BIGGEST PROS:
1. It appears to be well built and very durable.
2. The lens has a solid zoom range and is one of few lenses that allows for any use of auto focus with an adapter.
3. The light weight and lack of bulkiness are wonderful little extras.
BIGGEST CONS:
1. It is a little tight when it comes to turning the lens to extend the zoom.
2. This lens only allows for manual and AFS focus and not AFC focus.
3. When extending the zoom in low light situations, you may as well forget about getting a crisp shot on anything that moves.
All in all, it's a good buy for a reasonable price and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to any photography enthusiast.
